We do tons of comic book printing, and we have streamlined the process to make it as easy as possible. Just download the comic book template for the size and application format you need, create your artwork, and upload your design to print.
If you are doing a custom size or do not see a template in the application you are using, please be sure to use the following specifications to design your comic book.
To ensure the best print results for booklet products, follow these file setup guidelines when preparing your artwork:
Resolution: 300 dpi
Bleed: 1/8 inch (.125 inch) on all sides
Color Mode: CMYK
File Format: PDF (Press Quality with fonts embedded or outlined)
• Submit files as single pages in reading order (Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, etc.)
• Do not submit printer spreads unless specifically requested
• If using InDesign facing pages, export as "Pages" not "Spreads"
• Extend background artwork .125 inch past trim on all sides
• Keep important text at least .25 inch inside the trim edge
File > Export
Choose Adobe PDF (Print)
Select preset: Press Quality
Under General: Select "Pages" (not "Spreads")
Under Marks and Bleeds: Check Use Document Bleed Settings (.125 inch)
Click Export
File > Save As or Export
Choose Adobe PDF
Select Press Quality preset
Confirm bleed is set to .125 inch
Click Save
Booklets must be imposed correctly for folding and binding. Providing pages in reading order allows us to prepare the layout properly and prevents pagination errors. Call 877-613-1913 if you need help setting it up.
