To ensure the best print results on banners and large format products, follow these file setup guidelines when preparing your artwork:
Resolution: 150-300 dpi at final size
Bleed: 1 inch on all sides preferred (minimum .25 inch)
Color Mode: CMYK preferred
File Format: High-resolution PDF or JPG
• Standard minimum bleed is .25 inch on each edge (document .5 inch larger than final size)
• We prefer 1 inch bleed on each edge (document 2 inches larger than final size) for hemming and finishing
• Background colors must extend fully into the bleed area
• Large format files are often rasterized during production - high-resolution JPG files are acceptable
• Keep important text at least 2 inches inside the finished edge to avoid hemming or grommets
File > Export
Choose Adobe PDF (Print)
Select High Quality or Press Quality preset
Set bleed to 1 inch
Click Export
Build document at final size plus bleed
Confirm resolution is at least 150 dpi at full size
File > Save As
Choose JPEG (Maximum Quality) or PDF
Click Save
Banners are hemmed and finished after printing. Extra bleed ensures we can trim cleanly on color without leaving white edges. Proper setup prevents production delays and guarantees a professional finished product. Questions? Call 877-613-1913 - we are happy to help.
